Here you will find all practical information and answers to frequently asked questions about Hus Björken.

A carefree stay


Arrival & Parking

You are welcome from 15:00. Thanks to the personal access code, you can check in independently. On the day of departure, we ask you to check out by 11:00.

Parking is available on-site. In winter, the municipality keeps the main road snow-free; you are responsible for keeping the path to the front door clear during your stay (a snow shovel is provided).

You will receive your code a few days before arrival. Note: The door locks automatically when closed. Always keep your code or phone with you when stepping outside!

Sleeping & Sanitary

No, the holiday starts right away! Beds are made upon arrival and towels are ready for you. This is fully included in the price.

There is no toilet on the ground floor. You will find a toilet on the first floor (near the bedrooms). In the basement, you’ll find the laundry room with the shower and a second, separate toilet.

Tech & Wi-Fi

High-speed fiber internet (Wi-Fi) is available. On the Smart TV, you can log in to your own streaming accounts or cast content from your phone/tablet.

Yes, there is a SoundTouch radio (Bluetooth/Wi-Fi) with Swedish stations. There are also various board games and puzzles for a cozy evening.

Kitchen & Supplies

There is a L’OR Barista (capsules) and a standard filter coffee machine. The kitchen also has a large freezer for all your supplies.

The tap water is of excellent quality and safe to drink. There are currently no window screens; we recommend closing windows in the evening when lights are on.

Laundry & Care

Yes, in the basement, there is a washing machine, dryer, and ironing facilities available for free use.

o need to pack one; a hairdryer is available for you in the laundry room near the shower.

Heating & Electricity

Sustainably via a geothermal heat pump (constant temperature). For extra atmosphere, there is a pellet stove (purchase pellets yourself at the local ‘Bygghandel’ in Hagfors).

Swedish houses are sensitive to peak loads. Please do not use too many heavy appliances at once (e.g., avoid running the oven, washing machine, and dryer simultaneously) to prevent power outages.

No, charging at the house is not possible. There are plenty of public charging stations in the center of Hagfors (5 min. drive).

House Rules & Traditions

Dogs are welcome upon request (house must be left hair-free). Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the house

Yes, in Sweden, we remove our shoes at the entrance to keep the house clean. A shoe rack is provided.

Children & Safety

A baby cot (incl. linen) and a high chair are available in the house.

Please note: There are no stair gates and the garden is not fenced. We ask parents of young children to be extra alert.

Cleaning & Deposit

Please leave the house tidy: dishwasher empty, oven clean, bins emptied, and beds stripped. Always report any damage immediately.

We take care of the mandatory final cleaning. The deposit will be refunded within one week after departure, provided the house is left tidy and undamaged.

Environment & Surroundings

Use the green bin for general waste and the brown bin for food waste (only in the provided paper bags). Plastic, glass, and cardboard should be taken to Hagfors collection points.

Supermarkets, the doctor, and the Systembolaget (liquor store) are 5 min. away. In an emergency, call 112. Tips for outings can be found on our site or at the Touristinfo.
