Your loyal four-legged friend is more than welcome to stay with us by prior arrangement. We are happy to provide you with all the details regarding our house rules and Swedish legislation.
A pleasant stay for both humans and pets
Would you like to bring your four-legged friend to Hus Björken? That is certainly possible, but a holiday with your dog in Sweden requires thorough preparation. We assess every request personally based on the size and number of dogs, so please always contact us before booking.
Pet rules at Hus Björken
Pets are only welcome at Hus Björken with prior approval
Well-behaved dogs are welcome in our holiday home subject to prior approval. Please contact us before booking your stay. Upon approval, an additional fee of €50,- per stay applies.
Well-behaved dogs
By this, we mean pets that are well-socialised and able to interact in a friendly manner with other animals, including the neighbors’ dogs, and that do not cause damage to the accommodation or break anything in the home.
No garden fencing
Please note that the garden at Hus Björken is not fenced. You are responsible for supervising your pet and should be aware of the lack of fencing at the accommodation. Please be mindful of our neighbors, who have dogs of their own. Pets are not allowed to be let out to do their business in the garden; you can walk directly from the holiday home into the forest for your walks.
No pets on furniture
At Hus Björken, pets are not allowed on the furniture and are strictly prohibited from the upper floor and the basement of the accommodation.
The property must be left free of pet hair
We expect the holiday home to be left free of pet hair. A vacuum cleaner is provided for removing pet hair. If additional cleaning is required due to pet hair, supplementary costs may be charged.

Ready for your holiday?
We hope these guidelines are clear and that both you and your pet will have a wonderful stay. If you have any questions, or would like to request approval to bring your pet to Hus Björken, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Dog regulations in Sweden
If you are planning to bring your dog to Hus Björken in Sweden, you must ensure that you comply with the following legal requirements..
ID marking
Your dog must be fitted with a clearly readable microchip that complies with international ISO standards. This allows for identification at the border and within Sweden.
Rabies vaccination
The rabies vaccination must be administered with an approved vaccine by a licensed veterinarian. This can only be done once your dog is at least 3 months old. After vaccination, a mandatory waiting period of at least 21 days applies before you are allowed to enter Sweden.
EU Pet Passport
A valid EU pet passport is mandatory. This document, issued by a licensed veterinarian, contains information about your dog’s identity, vaccinations (such as rabies), and other medical data. As the owner, you must sign the passport.
Notification to Swedish Customs (Tullverket)
Every time you enter Sweden with your dog, you must report it to Swedish Customs. This can be done in advance online or directly at the border. Make sure you have the required documents ready. More information and the online declaration form can be found on the official website of Swedish Customs (Tullverket).
Leash requirements and supervision in nature
From March 1st to August 20th, dogs must be kept on a lead in the Swedish countryside to protect wildlife during the breeding season. Outside of this period, your dog may run off-lead, provided they are under full control and do not cause any disturbance.
